Taking about the engine of the car, 2012 Tata Nano comes with powerful petrol engine with a displacement of 624 cc. the engine churns out a good amount of 38 PS of power instead of 35 PS along with 51 Nm of torque, which was 48 Nm in the previous model. The engine is highly fuel efficient and delivers a whopping mileage of 25.4 km per litre, which was 23.6 km per litre in the current variant. Tata Motors have worked extra hard to boost up the mileage, which in turn ensures that new Tata Nano has the lowest carbon dioxide emission when compared to other cars in the Indian market. This is the mid variant of Tata Nano offered with an addition of five colors, the Rouge Red, Neon Rush, Serene White, Meteor Silver, Papaya Orange along with the Champagne Gold exteriors. The external mirrors on passenger and the driver side make way into the car. The air-conditioner is a brand new addition, with heating feature, the foldable rear seats with nap rest, half wheel covers, booster assisted brakes and parcel shelf are the new features added.

The maximum torque now produced is 51 Nm from 48 Nm earlier. The fuel efficiency is another key point especially when the petrol engine is under question with the heaping petrol price in the background. The 25.4 kmpl is a substantial improvement from the 23.6 kmpl to work in favour of the Tata Nano, which has never letdown a consumer with low fuel efficiency so far. The 0.6L, 624cc, 2-cylinder, MPFI (Multi Point Fuel Injection) petrol engine of Tata Nano with four speed manual gearbox delivers sufficient power and torque so that the acceleration of this car is not so bad. This engine makes Tata Nano able tocross 100kmph mark in 29.7 seconds and it can touch the top speed mark of 106kmph.

Tata Nano 2012 is a low budget small hatchback car model, however its low cost doesn’t affect the overall exterior appearance of new Tata Nano. Tata Motors has done the great job at exteriors of Tata Nano and makes it a stylish car like other premium small cars. The front of Tata Nano is marked by the small and sweeping down bonnet. Though the bonnet is small, it renders petite appearance to Nano. The bonnet incorporates diamond shaped clear lens headlights and reliable Tata logo in centre. The tinted windshield is equipped with two speed wipers and intermittent washer. Coming below the bonnet, one can find bumpers sharing the same color as painted on the entire body of Tata Nano. The high-end Tata Nano LX is also equipped with front fog lamps. Moving down the bumper, airdam can be seen which completes the Aerokit feature on new Nano which also includes roof spoiler.  The roof beading and roof spoiler in the LX variant makes Tata NANO 2012 look elegant and posh. Coming to the side profile, one can find Body color ORVM (Outside Rear View Mirror) on driver side and Tip-tap body color ORVM on passenger side. Even the door handles are body color, though Tata Motors was cautious about keeping the price in check and gave these appealing features only in top-end model. Intrusion beam is integrated through innovative door system design. One more thing that has been upgraded in the 2012 Tata Nano are the new wheel covers. The six petal shaped spokes on the wheel cover covering the radial tubeless tyres gives a stylish look to the new Nano. When viewed from side, it is easily noticeable that the new Tata Nano has been manufactured with high ground clearance just like an SUV. This will obviously save passengers from the jerks gifted by over-heighted speed breakers in our country. The overall body is painted in chic metallic and premium colors making the new Nano, a perfect eye-candy. At the rear the crunched tinted windshield gives way to squarish boot lid. The clear lens tail lamps are elongated and run in length with the boot lid. There is a high stop lamp mounted high at the centre. The body color bumpers and fog lamps continue at the rear also.

The interiors of the 2012 Tata Nano now has an expert touch, plusher than ever before and most attractive blend of colors to go with. The comforts in the car now attains new heights with soft hues of premium beige fabric in the top variant Tata Nano LX’s premium seats, trendy black upholstery in the Tata Nano CX mid variant and new exciting dual tone vinyl upholstery seats for the base Tata Nano 2012 variant, Standard. With three different alluring interior color tones, Tata Nano is a perfect choice where each variant stands to be the best in its own place. In order to generate a contrast color effect, the dashboard is done in medium graphite, Ebony Black and Barley beige colors in Nano Standard, Nano CX and Nano LX respectively. Talking about the new Tata Nano Standard, the centre facia shed Ebony black color; Tata Nano CX sheds silver dust in the centre facia and metallic silver color is used in the centre facia of the new Tata Nano LX. The roof lining is jute based in Standard model while Polyester is used in the other two variants. Even the A and B pillar on the doors are lined with trims. The dashboard becomes the new attraction in Tata Nano 2012 with its neat and clean placement of objects. The steering wheel is 2 spoke in base and mid variant and 3 spoke in top variant and is assisted with easy steer mechanism. The instrument cluster has bright illumination for better view during driving but unlike other cars, the oval instrument cluster is placed on the centre console rather than behind steering column. An electronic trip meter, digital fuel gauge, low fuel warning lamp is present along with speedometer. Just below it is the AC and heater. While central locking is given only in one variant, door lock facility on driver side is standard in all models. The seats are comfortable and can accommodate 4 people quite easily. Foe storage, a lot of practical options are visible in the entire Tata Nano. Cup holders in front console, gear shift console, magazine and coin holder on all doors, map pocket on front seats, rear parcel shelf and spacious boot are the few highlights of storage in the small car. The rear seats are foldable so as to increase the boot space so as to adjust more luggage. However a glove box is missing. The cabin lamp enhances the visibility for reading and the anti-glare rear view mirror helps better viewing for driver.

Interior comfort

New Tata Nano is classy and plush from inside and comes with comfortable options all across the interiors. Air conditioner with heater tops the list of comfort giving pleasure in summers and winters in Nano. The front windows are electrically powered in the small car. The driver and passengers can rest their heads in comfort on the headrests given on seats. Sun visor on front seats protects driver and co-driver from sun rays. Even laminated windshield helps in this activity.  The driver seat can be adjusted on the slider and a recliner is also provided in top two models. Assist grips are present for front and rear seats which can be used while turns and accident. Head lamp leveling facility is integrated in the new Tata Nano making it more comfortable for viewing the road.

Audio system is not available with Tata Nano 2012 so if you need audio system with this car you have to pay some extra amount.
