Kings XI Punjab vs Mumbai Indians highlights in the IPL 2012


Kings XI Punjab has won six and lost three out of nine played against Mumbai Indians in the IPL winning.

·        Kings XI has won three and lost four out of seven played in the IPL 5.




·        Mumbai Indians have won three and lost three out of six played in the present competition.

·        James Franklin (79 off 51 balls) has posted his first fifty for Mumbai Indians in the IPL

·        Franklin's previous highest in the IPL was 45 not out against Kolkata at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on May 22, 2011.

·        Franklin's 79 is the highest individual innings for Mumbai Indians in the present edition of the IPL, surpassing Rohit Sharma's 73 not out off 50 balls against Deccan Chargers at Visakhapatnam on April 9.

·        Franklin's aforesaid innings is the highest for Mumbai Indians against Kings XI Punjab in the IPL, outstripping the 70 not out by Dwayne Bravo at Centurion on May 12, 2009.  

·        Franklin is averaging 50.40 for Mumbai Indians in the IPL 252 runs in ten innings, five times not out.  He is the only Mumbai batsman to have averaged 50 in the IPL.

·        Sachin Tendulkar (23 off 23 balls) took his runaggregate in the IPL to 1762 at an average of 40.04 in 53 matches a record for Mumbai Indians.

·        Rohit Sharma is averaging 25.20 in the present tournament.  His aggregate of 126 in six matches, including a fifty, is the second highest for Mumbai Indians in the IPL 5, next only to Franklin's 145 (ave.48.33) in five matches.

·        Franklin and Tendulkar were involved in a first wicket partnership of 51 Mumbai Indians' highest against Punjab in the IPL, obliterating the 42 between Shikhar Dhawan and Tendulkar at Brabourne Stadium on March 30, 2010.

·        Praveen Kumar, after being wicket less in his previous eight IPL matches  the last two games in the 2011 edition, followed by six matches in the present competition  has captured two for 36.

·        Harbhajan Singh (40340) has claimed just one wicket in six matches in the IPL 5, conceding 135 runs the strike rate being 114.0

·        Shaun Marsh took his runaggregate in the IPL to 1465 at an average of 52.32 in 35 matches, including a hundred and thirteen fifties.  He is the top runscorer for Kings XI in the IPL.

·        Marsh's average of 52.32 is the highest in the IPL overall.

·        Marsh (68 not out off 40 balls) has recorded his 19th fifty in Twenty20.

·        Marsh's above innings is the highest for Punjab in the IPL 5.

·        Marsh, with 199 runs at an average of 49.75 in six matches, is the top runscorer for Punjab in the IPL 5.

·        Apart from two fifties by Marsh, not even a single fifty has been recorded for Punjab in the IPL 5.

·        Shaun Marsh has been adjudged the Man of the Match for the 12th time in Twenty20   his seventh in the IPL.

·        Kieron Pollard has bowled quite well to take two wickets for 14 runs off his four overs.

·        Pollard, with 11 wickets at 13.00 runs apiece in six matches, is the top wicket taker for Mumbai Indians in the IPL 5.

·        Pragyan Ojha has claimed 66 wickets at 22.31 in 60 matches, emulating RP Singh's tally of 66 in 58 matches at 24.63 runs apiece.  Only Lasith Malinga (70) has claimed more wickets than Ojha
